Understanding Skip-Counting
Skip-counting is counting forward by numbers other than 1. It helps with multiplication, division, and recognising patterns.
- Counting by 2: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 …
- Counting by 5: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 …
- Counting by 10: 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 …
Tip: Count aloud and look for the difference between numbers. Try real-life examples like counting coins or steps!
